Young Colleagues

For many years, the Amadeus Chamber Music Society has been dedicated to fostering intergenerational connections in chamber music, where younger musicians perform alongside more experienced colleagues. This unwritten rule of chamber music – to invite a musician whose knowledge and experience surpass your own – is something we continue to pass on to the younger and middle generations of professional musicians. Since 2023, students of the Conservatory of Music and Ballet Maribor have also been participating in the summer festival Echo of Summer, gaining invaluable experience of performing within a professional musical environment.
In this spirit, the concert Young Colleagues will also take place. This year, oboist Monika Trilar Babič and bassoonist Radule Vuk Popović, both members of the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovenian National Theatre Maribor, will take on the role of mentors. The ensemble will feature Conservatory students Nuša Pongrac (flute) and Katarina Simonič (horn), as well as Manca Rozmarič (clarinet), a student of the Academy of Music in Ljubljana.
These young yet already accomplished musicians will perform selected works for wind quintet by Franz Danzi, Jacques Ibert, and Dénes Agay, along with arrangements of well-known classical pieces. The program blends classical spirit with a contemporary sound and is sure to captivate both connoisseurs and the wider audience.
