tišini

An observational documentary with a powerful cinematic experience poses a fundamental question: What is truly important in life? Inspired by the director’s loss of her father, the film delves into confronting mortality and our relationship with those moments.

At the heart of the story is Manca Košir, a resilient woman and advocate for palliative care, who continues to celebrate life despite being diagnosed with cancer. Her friendship with death began in her youth, when, at 19, she spent a month lying in a coffin during the filming of Breza (1967). The director intertwines her personal experience of losing her father with Manca’s story, creating a space for reflection on absence, time, and memories.

The film encourages viewers to confront questions of loss and mortality, inviting them to reflect on how time shapes our memories and perception of life. With a creative approach, it explores the acceptance of time and the celebration of life, asking a crucial question: What will you do with the time you have?

The film was developed at the Eurodoc workshop in Novi Sad (2019) and the Balkan Documentary Center (2020) and was invited to the Torino Film Festival in 2024.

The film screening will be followed by a conversation with the director.
