This discussion will delve into the impact of societal conditions and ideologies (discourse and social dispositifs) on authors of translations, thus entering the domain of literary sociology. The Translators' Pranger will focus on the present moment. Here and now, translators navigate their work in alignment with prevailing discourses. In recent years, public discourse has undergone significant changes in areas such as gender politics, linguistic gendering, inclusive language choices, attitudes toward violence, and more. How do these shifts shape the practice of translation today?
