44. Cutting Old vines, the oldest vines in the world

Pruning vines is the most important professional task in a vineyard, as growth and yield are heavily dependent on it. At the same time, the Cutting of the Old Vine is also an important protocol event, because on this occasion the city of Maribor presents cuttings of the oldest vines to selected friendly cities and municipalities from all over the world. The cutting and ceremonial awarding of grafts is accompanied by a cultural-ethnographic program. The event will take place on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. on Military Square in Maribor.
