Stanka Repar is a Slovak-Slovenian poet, writer, essayist and translator, literary scholar, editor and publisher. She approaches her many roles with passion and consistency, combining a sharp intellect and a touch of humour with a refined sense of art and a deep affection for its creators. She is a lucid observer of the world and social relations, a creator and supporter of living culture, and a critical thinker about the systemic influence of cultural policies on artistic production, the lives of artists and the cultural scene as a whole. Her perspective is not limited to an intimate knowledge of the situation in her two homelands, Slovakia and Slovenia; she extends her reflections beyond both geographical and temporal boundaries.

Martina Magdič (1979) moved to Slovenia in 2003 after completing her studies in History and Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia. She became acquainted with Slovenian culture and language while working at Apokalipsa publishing house and Radio Študent. After moving to Maribor, she contributed her own piece to the city's cultural mosaic as the head of the cultural programme at Salon uporabnih umetnosti and Wetrinsky club. Between 2018 and 2021, she coordinated the preparation of the European Capital of Culture 2025 bid, first in Lendava and later in Ptuj. For several years, she worked as an executive producer with the national Borštnikovo srečanje theatre festival. Since 2021, she has been employed at the Maribor Public Library as a coordinator and organiser of its cultural programme.
