Alogte Oho & His Sounds of Joy

The group performs without electric guitars or bass guitar, but features two keyboard players who create a retro-futuristic sound, complemented by brass and woodwind arrangements, three vocalists, and steady afrobeat rhythms. The music, rooted in the traditions of the Frafra people from northeastern Ghana, represents an African form of gospel, combining elements reminiscent of highlife, afrobeat, and reggae. Their second album, O Yinne!, followed soon after their debut and brought the band from Ghana to world music stages across Europe.
