(Anti)heroes of modern times
At the literary evening, we will listen to selected excerpts from the short prose collections of Kazimir Kolar, Leonora Flis, Tomo Podstenšek and Miša Gams, as well as a conversation with the creators, which will be directed by the poet and translator Kristina Kočan.
The performers are representatives of the critical generation, born in the 1970s and 1980s, who in their works unabashedly command the darker side of the image of modern society and eruditely and uncompromisingly describe the disunity of their (anti)heroes, torn between the desire to make changes and inner helplessness.
With which writing procedures do our guests use in their works to mirror society and its pathological factors? What topics are they interested in? In what way are the protagonists of their works caught in the loops of life and why are they interesting?
The event is organized by MKC Maribor - Literary program MKC Črka. Performance partner: Maribor Puppet Theatre, Minoriti Cultural Quarter. The MKC Črke program is financially supported by the Municipality of Maribor and the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth. The event is part of a series of public events co-financed by the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Books.
