Film in Minoriti: Ingeborg Bachmann – Journey into the Desert

She is Austrian, he Swiss; she is a poet, he a playwright; she is uncompromising but vulnerable; he is bold but somewhat conservative. When Ingeborg Bachmann and Max Frisch first met in Paris in the summer of 1958, they were already international stars of the literary world. They spend the next four years in a passionate but open relationship between his native Zurich and her beloved Rome. But their harmony is increasingly disrupted by professional and personal tensions...
Such a versatile, complex, even mysterious woman and artist is, of course, very difficult to capture on film. That is why I have limited myself to six years of her life. /.../ She was a confident woman who was very aware of her own worth, but she also knew that it was difficult for women in the fifties and sixties to assert themselves or even to get noticed.
