KRISZTIÁN GRECSÓ: DOBRODOŠEL

The Department of Hungarian Language and Literature at the Faculty of Arts, University of Maribor, and the Institute for Hungarian Culture cordially invite you to a literary event and award ceremony of the Sándor Petőfi Prize at the national competition in Hungarian literature. We are honored to welcome Hungarian writer Krisztián Grecsó, author of the novel "Welcome," which was recently published in the Slovenian language by Didakta Publishing House, translated by Gabrielle Gaál. He is also the author of this year's selected literary work, "Vera."

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jutka Rudaš.

The event will be conducted in Hungarian, with interpretation provided into Slovenian.


Krisztián Grecsó is a contemporary Hungarian writer, born in 1976 in Szegvár, located in southern Hungary. He graduated in Hungarian language and literature from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged. Grecsó serves as the editor of the weekly magazine Élet és Irodalom (Life and Literature) and has been honored with some of the most prestigious literary awards in Hungary. He writes poetry, short stories, and novels, with his works translated into over ten foreign languages.
