Literary Station: PIA PREZELJ - HEAVY WATER

The story is set in a rural environment and reveals the bitter truth about the interwoven lives within a small village community. Snippets from the life of the elderly protagonist Ida, who has just lost her husband, gradually come together amidst the consequences of a concealed past and an unfulfilled future.

The discussion about the book, which is part of the Fabula selection, will be moderated by Danaja Lorenčič.

Pia Prezelj is a writer, translator, and journalist in the cultural department of the newspaper Delo. In 2022, she received the Debut of the Year award, the pes čuvaj/watchdog 2022, presented by the Slovenian Journalists' Association. Her novel Heavy Water received the award for the best literary debut at the 39th Slovenian Book Fair.
