An architectural walk through the Minoriti Cultural Quarter

Join us for an architectural walk through the Minoriti Cultural Quarter. With its programmes and activities, the Minoriti is not just a space, but a unique entity where the whole of the city of Maribor is intertwined. It hosts a variety of events and performance, performative, music and film content, creative collaborations, talks and exhibitions.

building has returned to its primary activity - the catering programme. The attic houses the Puppet Museum with a workshop for children, which opens onto the terrace above the info point pavilion. The terrace offers one of the most beautiful views in Maribor, with a view of the former Minorite garden with the summer auditorium and the Court Tower, all the way to Maribor Pohorje. The architectural walk will end at Vojašnice Square with a visit to the renovated market pavilion, which completes the revitalisation and renovation of the square.

During the tour, we will be guided by architects from Atelierarhitekti and representatives of the Minoriti to explore the Judgement Tower, a versatile event space. The ground floor boasts a grand vaulted brick structure, designed as an amphitheatre with raised seating, while the top floor exudes character with its impressive reinforced concrete domed roof. Moving on, we'll encounter the Outer Auditorium, characterized by its striking cantilevered reinforced concrete shell, housing service areas and an outdoor café. Our journey will then take us to the Tri babe building, where the ground floor, once again bustling with activity, hosts a catering program. Upstairs, the attic is home to the Puppet Museum and children's workshops, which opens onto the terrace above the info point pavilion. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy one of Maribor's most captivating views, spanning from the former Minorite garden and summer auditorium to the Court Tower and beyond to Maribor Pohorje. The architectural expedition will culminate at Vojašniški Square, where we'll explore the renovated market pavilion, marking the final touch in the revitalization and renewal of the square.
