Participatory experiment – visitors intervene in the space with materials – the “fluid composition” continues.
Artists Snježana Premuš and Pia Brezavšček invite to a two-day intertwining of observational and participatory formats – choreographic sketches that bring their research topic closer to visitors and curious minds. The distinctive feature of these “choreographic sketches” is their expansion of the very understanding of choreography, a field Premuš has been exploring in various ways for many years. The sketches will be presented in multiple forms.
Artistic director Snježana Premuš is interested in ways of re-organizing and developing systems of visual, verbal, and acoustic connections with movement. Her work expands from a core somatic-dance focus into a multilayered interweaving of different media. In this way, the media open up unexpected spaces for subtle processes and themes: the obviousness of perception; the permeability of the body; surface/depth; vulnerability; adaptation; meaning.
For the development of the project, she invited Pia Brezavšček – editor, publicist, and dramaturg. The starting point of the project is a premise the two exchanged during the process of Physical Manifestations:
“Meaning constantly slides along the surface and communicates with what is culturally recognized and agreed upon. (…) The body, as Deleuze says, is a sieve, a permeable surface where meaning condenses, where meanings are reorganized – yet nothing is ever stable.”
