Prešeren Day at the Museum

On Prešeren Day, we invite you to visit Lutkovni muzej Maribor, where words, imagination, and creativity come together in the world of puppetry. This celebration of culture is the perfect opportunity to explore the museum of Lutkovno gledališče Maribor, which has been shaping the city’s cultural pulse for half a century.

Located in the attic of the renovated Tri babe building, the exhibition presents the theatre’s professional journey through its most iconic puppets, costumes, sketches, and set pieces - works that have inspired generations of audiences. The exhibition is more than a display: an interactive stage invites visitors to try puppet animation themselves, while parts of the museum come alive through augmented reality with the LutkAR app.
