Tetkine Radosti

The Tetkine Radosti project began in 2007 with the creation of its first mixtape, featuring music from the former Yugoslavia spanning the 1960s to the 1980s, with a focus on funk, soul, beat, disco, synth-pop, and progressive rock. Bakto, Borka, and Woo-D dug through second-hand record shops and mixed the discovered material into a three-part collage of well-known, lesser-known, and completely obscure gems of Yugoslav funk, disco, schlager, and beat music.
To date, they have released six such compilations and one beat tape. Tetkine Radosti has performed mostly as a DJ set across almost the entire region, from Budapest to Tirana. The project’s popularity has been significantly fueled by its hip-hop-inspired “cut & paste” approach to the Yugoslav pop-cultural tradition.
