BETWEEN SILENCE AND DREAMS – LULLABIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

A lullaby is one of humanity’s oldest musical companions. Long before a child understands words, they respond to melody. Before fairy tales and stories, it is a mother’s voice that gently lulls them to sleep. In the simple melodies passed down through generations over centuries lie tenderness, protection, love, and a profound sense of security. A lullaby is therefore far more than a song to close the day; it is a precious thread in the cultural memory of peoples around the world.
The concert Between Silence and Dreams invites listeners on a musical journey through the diverse lullaby traditions of Europe and beyond. Bringing together folk melodies and artful choral compositions, the programme celebrates the richness of musical expression while revealing the universal emotions that unite these traditions. Wherever they originate, lullabies speak of care and devotion, the longing for peace, the warmth of home, and the deeply human desire to feel safe and loved.
Through the music of different cultures, the concert celebrates the bonds that connect us beyond language, borders, and origins. Tenderness, love, and trust become a universal language in which traditions and generations meet, creating a shared, timeless world suspended between silence and dreams.
