Children’s Stop-Motion Animation Workshop

From September 17 to 20, 2025, we invite you to join our Children’s Stop-Motion Animation Workshop!
The workshop will be led by Sandra Jovanovska, a multimedia artist working in the field of audiovisual arts, with the support of her assistant Brina Fekonja.
Together, we will create a short animated film using the stop-motion technique. Following this year’s festival theme of comedy, we will explore how humor and the grotesque shape the way we see the world. Participants will experiment with pixilation (an animation technique where people are the main characters), using their own bodies and recycled materials to bring stories to life.
Along the way, we’ll also explore sustainability in art, learning how to create without producing waste, saving time, and having fun at the same time. The goal of the workshop is to produce short animated films that not only offer a critical reflection on social issues but also inspire new ways of thinking about materials and our role in the creative process.
The workshop consists of four consecutive sessions and will take place at the Maribor Puppet Theatre.
Schedule:
Wednesday, Sept 17 – Friday, Sept 19 • 4:00–7:00 PM
Saturday, Sept 20 • 11:00 AM–4:00 PM
The workshop is open to children and young people aged 8–15. Participation is free of charge!
Spaces are limited to 8 participants. Advance registration is required by Thursday, September 11, 2025, or until all places are filled. Register at: brina@stoptrik.com
