Ana Mrzla's street theatre based on the motifs of the folk tale about the Snake Queen
Legend has it that once upon a time, a queen lived on the island of Maribor. Snake Queen. A beautiful white snake with a golden crown on its head lured the young men of Maribor, who wanted gold and jewels, into its charm. But the poisonous snakes that guarded the treasure drove many to their deaths in the Drava waves. Once upon a time, along the Taista river, there was a corner that lived in ancient times, in the Iron Age. Then he sheltered Celts and Romans, Germans and Slavs. He quietly accompanied them throughout history, changing with them, growing and falling, flourishing and decaying. Today we call it Military Square. And it blooms again, and it lives again!
