REGI KVAK

REGI KVAK is a five-member reggae/funk band from Maribor that blends infectious groove rhythms, energetic guitar riffs, and vibrant stage energy. Their original music combines the laid-back spirit of reggae with the rhythmic punch of funk, enriched with original lyrics and genuine interaction with the audience.

The band consists of outstanding musicians, led by one of Slovenia’s leading jazz musicians of the past 25 years, guitarist Samo Šalamon. He has recorded more than 45 albums as a bandleader, and years ago the magazine Guitar Player listed him among the 10 best young jazz guitarists in the world. Alongside Šalamon, the group features exceptional representatives of the younger Slovenian music scene. On guitar is Jakob Podlesek, a recent member of the band Batista Cadillac. On keyboards and trumpet is Gregor Miklavc, also a member of Rasta Safari. The rhythm section is formed by bassist Gašper Drev, who performs with numerous bands across Slovenia (including Zha and Bambus), and outstanding Maribor drummer Tin Matuš, who has been a constant presence on the Maribor music scene for many years.
