Stories that Connect Us
The expert meeting, organised by Beletrina in cooperation with the Maribor Library and the Austrian Literary Association Manuskripte, will shed light on the challenges of publishing and the state of the literary world.
They will address a range of questions, including: how do publishers reach authors? Do they monitor literature at the border? Do they have contacts from each other? What are the forms of support or opportunities for translators, authors, publishers? What are the common stories and what do Austrian and Slovenian authors want? What are the cross-border links between event organisers and publishers, between producers and media, between authors and editors? How do literary journalists, bloggers, critics find readers for their articles and for literature? How are book clubs developing here and abroad and what is their importance for the local community?
