Tina Vrbnjak

Following the well-received conversations with Ervin Hladnik Milharčič, Ksenija Benedetti, and Pižama, Mariborka Bookstore and the Maribor Puppet Theatre are opening a new chapter of joint public conversations this year. Hosted at the Judgement Tower (Sodni stolp), the series will feature four major conversations dedicated to reflection, dialogue, and encounters with outstanding figures from our cultural and social landscape.

Our second guest is this year’s Prešeren Fund Award recipient for acting, Tina Vrbnjak—a theatre and film actress whose work reaches far beyond awards and titles. Her artistic practice is deeply research-driven, defined by constant exploration and an uncompromising commitment to developing and refining her own theatrical expression.

At the same time, Tina Vrbnjak critically reflects on the theatrical medium itself, her role within it, and the position of women in both the theatre world and society at large. For this reason, the conversation promises to be anything but superficial—offering a thoughtful, open, and in-depth dialogue.

Anja Zag Golob will moderate the conversation. The event is organized by Mariborka Bookstore and co-funded by the EU Creative Europe programme.
