U.F.O.: Homage to Katalin Ladik

Duration: 1 H
Maribor Theatre Festival

Hungarian-Serbian poet and performer Katalin Ladik is considered the Yoko Ono of the Balkans and a pioneer of noise and performance art in Southeast Europe: with SoundBodyPoetry of her radical body art performance UFO Party in 1969, she shook up the art scene of that time and established the methods of experimental voice work and physical performance back in the 1970s.

German sound dancer Jule Flierl and Slovenian choreo-vocalist Irena Z. Tomažin, in their first collaboration, celebrate their shared interest in Ladika's artistic position: a tribute that blurs the boundaries between poetry, play and experimental voice work, while continuing their own artistic exploration of the physical experience of language and the articulation of different voice layers.
