Infinity of Thoughts

The festival has been paving the way for creativity, knowledge, and connections for a decade. It places young people at the heart of its mission – their ideas, efforts, talents, and bright concepts – while also creating a space for meetings with renowned experts and guests from various fields of design and art. It serves as a springboard, offering participants the opportunity to step into the spotlight, establish themselves, and become visible. The festival weaves together a wide range of activities in which young people explore, express themselves, and present their work publicly. It is not just an annual event, but a space for growth and recognition – not only in Slovenia but across Europe. It is created by the Secondary School of Design Maribor (SŠOM), where students and mentors collaborate to shape the core of the festival's events. External professional support provides assistance primarily in areas where the school lacks the necessary equipment.

FOMB unfolds across several thematic sections. Even before the festival week begins, a competition is announced, traditionally attracting submissions from various European countries. The festival then blossoms through presentations, exhibitions, and professional events spread across different locations in the city – including the Sodni Stolp, Media Nox Gallery, Metalna exhibition space, and SŠOM.

The core days of the festival focus on presentations in the fields of media, design, and hairstyling, featuring lectures, roundtable discussions, and conversations with established creators. The highlight is a ceremonial event held at Metalna – an evening that combines aesthetics, media dynamics, and outstanding production expertise.

On Friday, the stage is traditionally dedicated to music. FOMB POMP, a youth music event that has evolved into a lively segment of the festival week, brings together high school music groups from Ljubljana, Celje, and Maribor. It is a space for relaxed socializing, rhythm, and community energy – an opportunity for young people to listen to each other and collectively round off a week of creativity.

The entire festival is designed and executed by students and mentors from SŠOM.
